Speak Up Speak Out

Students, do you have a concern about something happening in your school, or are worried about a friend?

Parents, do you suspect something might not be right with your child or one of their friends?

If the above statements apply to you, please say something -- it's far better for you to be wrong and report it than be right but have kept it to yourself.

There are several things you can do right now to make sure an individual or the school community stays safe:

1. If someone is in immediate danger, call 9-1-1. If you're not sure it's an emergency, but it could be, call the South Milwaukee Police Non-Emergency number: (414) 768-8060.

2. If it's during school hours, call your school and as to speak to an administrator. If you don't feel confident your concern will be addressed at your school, call the District Office at 414-766-5000.

3. If you would like to remain anonymous, or are not sure who should know what you know, submit a tip to Speak Up Speak Out - a  24-hour service operated by the Wisconsin Department of Justice who will then share your tip with the appropriate organization.
